Dr. José Antonio Arrieta, president and founder of the World Ophthalmology Sport Society, delivered the talk “High Performance Vision in Rally” at the World Rally Championship.
The talk covered four axes: dynamic visual acuity, peripheral vision and spatial awareness, visual reaction speed, and adverse conditions and eye protection — dust, backlight, tunnel exits, night — four capacities a routine eye exam never measures, and which on a timed stage are counted in metres of line.
